FCS Poll - Oct. 17

Here is my ballot for The Sports Network/Fathead.com Top 25.

For the first time in my 1 1/2 voting on the poll, I put the University at Albany into the Top 25, at No. 24. The Great Danes have won four games in a row and are the lone unbeaten in the Northeast Conference. Also, their loss to Maine looks better and better, as the Black Bears are 5-1, their only loss coming to FBS Pitt. UAlbany's other loss came at Colgate (4-3), in the season opener, in overtime.

While I voted for the Great Danes, UAlbany isn't in the poll, but they are receiving votes.

The number in (x) is if the team is in a different position in the actual poll.

Here is my ballot for The Sports Network Fathead.com FCS Top 25.

UAlbany picked its first victory of the season, over Ivy League member, Columbia.

Like usual, the number in (x) is where the team ranks in the poll.

On a side note, I'm traveling down to Boone, N.C., for a wedding on Columbus Day weekend. That's the home of my No. 1 team, Appalachian State. The Mountaineers are off that weekend.

Here is my ballot for The Sports Network/Fathead.com FCS Top 25.

The entire poll can be found here.

The number in (x) is there if there's a difference between my ballot and the actual poll. Incredibly, I'm off on every single team, which I think is the first time that's ever happened in my two years of voting.

After starting the season 0-2, UAlbany is not receiving any more votes. I did move Maine into my Top 25, because of their performance against the Great Danes on Saturday evening.

1. Appalachian State (3)

FCS Top 25 - Sept. 5

The first week is in the books.

Here is the new poll as voted on by the The Sports Network/Fathead.com FCS Top 25 voters (which are listed below the poll on the link).

I was out at the Colgate/UAlbany game on Saturday and it was really a good matchup. I think both teams showed a lot of promise. I moved the Raiders into my Top 25 because of the victory, which I likely would have done for the Great Danes had they won.

UAlbany is still receiving votes - down to only 3 though- after the overtime loss to Colgate and while I voted for the Raiders on my ballot, at No. 24, they are still outside of the Top 25 in the poll.

This was a difficult week because many of the team played "up" to a FBS team and lost. The big winner was Sacramento State, which I moved all the way up to No. 7, after its victory over Pac-12 member Oregon State.

Below is my poll. The number in (x) is only listed if there's a difference between my ballot and the poll.

1. Eastern Washington
2. William & Mary (5)
3. Georgia Southern (2)
4. Appalachian State (3)
5. Montana State (6)
6. Northern Iowa (4)

FCS Top 25 - Nov. 1

Welcome to November. That means the college football season is winding down.

Conference titles are going to be decided in the next few weeks.

As for UAlbany, their season has slowly slipped from optimism to frustration as they lost for the third straight time, to Bryant, on Saturday.

As for the NEC leaders, Robert Morris, they still can't gain traction in The Sports Network's Top 25 poll.

The Colonials are ranked No. 21 in my poll, which is below.

As for a team that is ranked (not on my ballot), Cal Poly defeated NEC basement dwellers, St. Francis (Pa.), 41-33. Cal Poly is ranked No. 19, but only beat St. Francis by eight. Robert Morris beat St. Francis 35-14.

UAlbany beat the Red Flash, 48-0, so I dropped Cal Poly as soon as I saw that score. (In fairness to some voters, that was a late Saturday night start, so if they voted before then, they didn't see that)

Here is my full poll with a number in (x), if it's different in the actual poll.

1. Appalachian State
2. Jacksonville State
3. William & Mary (4)
4. Delaware (5)
5. Villanova (3)
6. Eastern Washington
7. Stephen F. Austin (10)
8. New Hampshire
9. Wofford (7)
10. Liberty (14)
11. Bethune-Cookman
12. Southeast Missouri State (9)
13. Northern Iowa (17)

FCS Top 25 - Oct. 25

The University at Albany had a tough outcome on Friday night. The Great Danes nearly defeated Central Connecticut, but the Blue Devils prevailed in overtime.

My lone team from the NEC that's ranked is Robert Morris, who was off this week.

Four of my bottom five teams are just on the outside looking in, along with Western Illinois.

Here is the poll. The number in (x) is if it's different on the actual Sports Network Top 25 poll.

1. Appalachian State
2. Jacksonville State
3. William & Mary
4. Stephen F. Austin
5. Delaware (6)
6. Villanova (5)

FCS Top 25 - Oct. 11

Voting is something very important to do.

In an election year (albeit not presidential) it's important that everyone be heard.

Anyway, I'm in the process of changing my address for voting purposes, but just have been procrastinating.

What I have been voting on is the FCS Top 25. I also just made my first picks for the ECAC football polls that started this weekend. I'll post those results when I get them.

The most troubling news for UAlbany is they're not in the The Sports Network's Top 25, yet two teams they've beaten are receiving votes - Maine and Yale.

If the Great Danes beat Robert Morris next week and Yale and Maine continue to win, they might be able to crack my Top 25 which is listed below. The number in (x) is the team's actual ranking if there's any difference.

1. Appalachian State
2. Delaware
3. Jacksonville State
4. William & Mary
5. Stephen F. Austin
6. Villanova
7. James Madison
8. Massachusetts
9. Montana State
10. Montana (11)
11. South Carolina State (10)
12. Eastern Washington
13. Cal Poly
14. Liberty (19)
15. North Dakota State
16. Southern Illinois (17)
17. Furman (NR)
18. Wofford (14)
19. New Hampshire (16)
20. Elon (24)
21. Georgia Southern
