Boys Soccer Sectionals

Here are the boys' soccer breakdowns.

Class AA
First Round
Friday, October 26
S6 Shaker at B3 CBA, 3 p.m.
B5 Schenectady at S4 Bethlehem, 3 p.m.
S8 Columbia at B1 La Salle (Saturday), 6 p.m.
B7 Troy at S2 Guilderland, 3 p.m.
S5 Niskayuna at B4 Amsterdam, 7 p.m.
S7 Saratoga at B2 Albany (Thursday) at Bleecker Stadium, 6:30 p.m.
B6 Catholic Central at S3 Colonie, 7 p.m.
Bye - S1 Shenendehowa
Quarterfinals
Tuesday, October 30
Shaker/CBA at S1 Shenendehowa, 3 p.m.
Colum/LSI vs. Sch/Beth at higher seed, 3 p.m.
Troy/G'land vs. Nisky/Amst at higher seed, 3 p.m.
S'toga/Albany vs. CCHS/Colonie at higher seed, 3 p.m.
Semifinals
Thursday, November 1 at Colonie, 5&7 p.m.
Final
Tuesday, November 6 at Colonie, 5 p.m.
Bracket Analysis: Shenendehowa and then the rest of the field - at least that's what it's looked like. Colonie, Guilderland and Bethlehem are all strong. Niskayuna usually plays well in the postseason. Let's see if some Big 10 teams can post some victories in this tradtionally lopsided matchup.

Class A
First Round
Wednesday, October 24
No. 9 Bishop Gibbons at No. 8 Lansingburgh (Thursday), 3 p.m.
No. 11 Hudson Falls at No. 6 Gloversville, 5 p.m.
No. 10 Averill Park at No. 7 Mohonasen, 7 p.m.
Quarterfinals
Saturday, October 27
BG/Burgh at No. 1 Albany Academy, 2 p.m.
No. 5 Glens Falls at No. 4 Burnt Hills, 2 p.m.
HudF/Glov at No. 3 South Glens Falls, 2 p.m.
Mohon/AP at No. 2 Scotia, 2 p.m.
Semifinals
Thursday, November 1 at Queensbury (both at 2:30)
Final
Monday, November 5 at Colonie, 7 p.m.
Bracket Analysis: Albany Academy has gone through the regular season undefeated and is the No. 1 team in New York State, so they are obviously the team to beat. That being said, Burnt Hills is always tough as Scotia and South High will be.

Class B
First Round (Wednesday 10/24 at Thursday 10/25)
No. 9 Hudson at No. 8 Cairo-Durham, Wed. 3 p.m.
No 12 Cohoes at No. 5 Cobleskill, Thurs. 5 p.m.
No. 13 Ravena at No. 4 Schalmont, Thurs. 5 p.m.
No. 14 Broadalbin-Perth at No. 3 Schuylerville, Wed. 3 p.m.
No. 11 Fonda at No. 6 Greenville, Wed. 3 p.m.
No. 10 Johnstown at No. 7 Ichabod Crane, Thurs. 5 p.m.
No. 15 Hoosic Valley at No. 2 Tamarac, Thurs. 5 p.m.
Bye - No. 1 Chatham
Quarterfinals
(Friday 10/26 at Saturday 10/27 at higher seed)
Semifinals
Wednesday, October 31 at Johnstown, 5 & 7 p.m.
Final
Saturday, November 3 at Colonie, 6 p.m.
Bracket Analysis: Chatham is definitely the top team, but I could see Wasaren teams Tamarac or Schuylerville both winning.

Class CC
First Round
Thursday, October 25
No. 9 Corinth at No. 8 Hoosick Falls, 3 p.m.
No. 11 Berne-Knox at No. 6 Greenwich, 3 p.m.
No. 10 Mechanicville at No. 7 Saratoga Catholic, 3 p.m.
Quarterfinals
Thursday (10/25), Friday (10/26), Saturday (10/27)
HooFalls/Corinth at No. 1 Galway, Sat. 2 p.m.
No. 5 Voorheesville at No. 4 Lake George, Thurs. 3 p.m.
B-K/Green at No. 3 Schenectady Christian, Fri. 3 p.m.
Spa/Mech'ville at No. 2 Stillwater, Sat. 2 p.m.
Semifinals
Wednesday, October 31 at Morse Complex, Glens Falls, 3 p.m.
Final
Saturday, November 3 at Colonie, 2 p.m.
Bracket Analysis: Galway is the top team and for good reason as they are ranked the top team in the state. Stillwater should be well-tested after winning the Wasaren League. Those are the top two teams, everyone else will be chasing them.

Class C
First Round
Wednesday, October 24
No. 9 Salem at No. 8 Hadley-Luzerne, 3 p.m.
No. 10 Duanesburg at No. 7 Mayfield, 3 p.m.
Quarterfinals (Thursday 10/25, Friday 10/26 and Saturday 10/27)
Sal/H-L at No. 1 Maple Hill, Fri. 3 p.m.
No. 5 Middleburgh at No. 4 Berlin, Thurs. 3 p.m.
No. 6 Schoharie at No. 3 Waterford, Fri. 3 p.m.
May/Duane at No. 2 Fort Plain, Sat. 2 p.m.
Semifinals
Tuesday, October 30 at Johnstown, 5 & 7 p.m.
Final
Saturday, November 3 at Colonie, 12 p.m
Bracket Analysis: Maple Hill has a strong season and they're the defending state champions, but they did graduate a lot of players from last year and that makes them vulnerable. Can this still win? Oh yeah, but look out for Fort Plain, Berlin and Waterford.

Class D
Play-in game
Wednesday, October 24
No. 9 St. Johnsville at No. 8 Hartford, 3 p.m.
Quarterfinals
Thursday, Oct. 25, Friday, Oct. 26 and Saurday, Oct. 27
St. J/Hart at No. 1 North Warren, Sat. 2 p.m.
No. 5 New Lebanon at No. 4 Fort Ann, Fri. 2 p.m.
No. 6 Northville at No. 3 Argyle, Thurs. 3 p.m.
No. 2 Loudonville Christian at No. 7 Sharon Springs, Fri at N. Colonie, 3 p.m.
Semifinals
Tuesday, October 30 at Morse Field, Glens Falls, 3 p.m.
Final
Saturday, November 3 at Colonie, 4 p.m.
Bracket Analysis: I have to admit I don't know too much about these teams, but Loudonville Christian is always good and North Warren is the top seed, so I would expect them to get to the semis at least.
