Sectionals Pairings Released

The Sectional pairings for football have been released with no real surprises. The only thing that is still up in air is if Lansingburgh will be allowed to participate and because of that two sets of brackets were released one with them in and the other with them not included. That is supposed to be figured out on Monday and hopefully for all of the parties involved, it will be because there's no sense in dragging this out for the whole week, especially when teams need to get prepared for their opponents. With that said, here are the pairings....

Class AA
L4 Schenectady (4-3) at E1 Guilderland (6-1), 7 p.m.
E3 Ballston Spa (6-1) at L2 Troy (6-1), 1:30 p.m.
L3 Colonie (4-3) at E2 Shenendehowa (6-1), 7 p.m.
E4 CBA (3-4) at L1 La Salle (6-1), 7 p.m.

Class A
If Burgh in
I4 Mohonasen (1-6) at II1 Lansingburgh (6-1), 7 p.m.
II3 Glens Falls (4-3) at I2 Bishop Maginn (5-2), 7 p.m.
I3 Averill Park (2-5) at II2 Amsterdam (6-1), 7 p.m.
II4 Gloversville (3-4) at I1 Burnt Hills (6-1), 7 p.m.

Class A

If Burgh out
I4 Mohonasen (1-6) at II1 Amsterdam (6-1), 7 p.m.
II3 Gloversville (3-4) at I2 Bishop Maginn (5-2), 7 p.m.
I3 Averill Park (2-5) at II2 Glens Falls (6-1), 7 p.m.
II4 South Glens Falls (1-6) at I1 Burnt Hills (6-1), 7 p.m.

Class B
R4 Hudson (2-5) at W1 Cobleskill (7-0), 7 p.m.
W3 Hudson Falls (5-2) at R2 Albany Academy (4-3), 1:30 p.m.
R3 Cohoes (4-3) at W2 Broadalbin-Perth (6-1), 7 p.m.
W4 Fonda (4-3) at R1 Ravena (6-1), 7 p.m.

Class C
N4 Hoosick Falls (4-3) at S1 Watervliet (6-1), 1:30 p.m.
S3 Coxsackie-Athens (5-2) at N2 Schuylerville (6-1), 7 p.m.
N3 Corinth (5-2) at S2 Chatham (6-1), 7 p.m.
S4 Voorheesville (5-2) at N1 Cambridge (7-0), 1:30 p.m.

Class D
Canajoharie (7-0) bye
#5 Warrensburg (3-4) at #4 Whitehall (3-3), 1:30 p.m.
#6 Salem (1-5) at #3 Rensselaer (5-2), 7 p.m.
#7 Bishop Gibbons (0-6) at #2 Fort Edward (5-2), 1:30 p.m.

How about in Class C where you have three teams with records of 5-2 going on the road for their first playoff game and in Class AA where you have a first round matchup of Troy (6-1) and Ballston Spa (6-1). Another intriguing matchup pits La Salle against rival CBA in a game that is usually played in the regular season for the Sabre, but with the new division alignments, they did not play this year. Last year, La Salle won the Sabre and CBA won the Class AA Super Bowl.

Who do you guys think will make a long sectional run? Will there be any upsets??
