Siena 82, Canisius 70

ALBANY - A pretty close game in the first half.

Siena build an eight-point lead with five minutes to go, but Canisius closed it quickly.

The Saints are led by Edwin Ubiles, who has 12 points and Ronald Moore added 11.

The Golden Griffins got 10 points from Frank Turner and six off the bench from Julius Coles.

Canisus got nine offensive rebounds in the first half, obviously something that Siena coach Fran McCaffery was none too thrilled about.

After a exciting second half (in more ways than one) the Saints prevailed to improve to 6-0 in the MAAC.

Alex Franklin took a hard hit from Robert Goldsberry for the second consecutive time these two teams played.

Goldsberry was called "chippy" in the second half by his coach, but it seemed to almost cross the line to a dirty play.

The Siena players said after the game this is the type of game they were expecting from the Griffins.
