Cooley goes off
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - Fairfield coach Ed Cooley wasn't too happy with his team after Saturday night's game.
Most of the postgame rant was missed by me as I was in the Siena locker room talking to the players, but he apparently voiced his displeasure quite bluntly.
When a reporter asked freshman Derek Needham if there was too much pressure, Cooley stepped in and said no.
“I want to be in a pressure-cooker Monday night in March,” Cooley said. “That’s what it’s all about to us.”
Cooley also was upset with the defense on Clarence Jackson saying he could have made some of the shots if he was left that open.
“We didn’t find him early,” Cooley said. “He made his first one wide open, in the zone, where we had a bad slide. Hats off to him.”
Cooley has a good team and for 23 minutes it really looked like they had a chance to beat Siena, but the Saints pulled away.

Ryan Rossiter said he wasn't under the weather he just warmed up too quickly and wanted to save some energy for the game.
