Vermont 28, UAlbany 24 (half)
ALBANY - The Great Danes started out playing not so hot.
After scoring the game's first point, they fell behind 9-1.
They clawed back into the game, thanks to their rebounding and picked up their overall play.
Evan Fjeld was having his way early, scoring 10 of the team's first 25 points.
Brendan Bald also played well, scoring 11 points in the first half for the Catamounts.
The Great Danes were more balanced, getting six points from Tim Ambrose and five apiece from co-captains Blake Metcalf and Logan Aronhalt.
Rebounding, which UAlbany coach Will Brown said was a huge key to the game, was pretty even. Vermont leads 20-19.
It should be a good second half.
An aside, this is the best crowd of the season, I think and definitely since the season-opener against Cornell.
