Lannan Twirls Gem vs. Mets

Siena graduate John Lannan posted his second good outing of the year tonight as he went six innings and struck out 11, while allowing only three hits, one run and no walks.

The Nationals are currently leading 2-1 in the eighth inning and Lannan is in line for his 1st victory of the season.

We'll see if the bullpen can hold it.

Update: Lannan can't get the win any longer as the Nationals bullpen allowed the tying run to cross as the Nationals now bat in the top of the ninth.

Too bad for John. This is his second six-inning effort and he's allowed only a combined three runs and 15 K's in those two starts, but has yet to come away with a win.
