Siena 70, Manhattan 64

ALBANY - Another one bites the dust.

The Siena men's basketball team dropped another of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference's top teams on Tuesday evening, taking down Manhattan 70-64, in front of 5,812 fans.

The Saints (7-9, 12-14) have beaten four of the league's top five teams, at home this season.

Siena was led by freshman point guard Evan Hymes, who finished with a game-high 21 points and seven assists.

The Saints led for the game's final 35 minutes, taking a lead as big as 11, with 2:19 to play.

Kyle Downey added 18 points, OD Anosike chipped in 14 and Rob Poole made 10 free throws.

Siena shot 25-for-30 (83.3%) from the free throw line and had only 14 turnovers. In the earlier matchup, the Saints committed a season-high 22 turnovers.

The Jaspers (11-5, 18-10) were led by George Beamon, who finished with 16 points, while Emmy Andujar added 11.

Manhattan played the final 26 minutes without sophomore Michael Alvarado, who was hit in the eye and didn't return to the court for the second half.

Siena travels to Long Island, to take on Hofstra, on Saturday, at 4 p.m., in a BracketBusters game.
