UAlbany 37, Siena 29 (half)

ALBANY - Evan Hymes continues to impress me, but it was the University at Albany that leads at intermission here in downtown Albany.

Hymes banked a 3-pointer home with two seconds to play, to finish the first half with 19 points and 7-for-9 shooting.

Hymes is the Saints' leading scorer (14.0 ppg), but wouldn't have started the season at point guard, if not for the injury to Rakeem Brookins, who is on the bench for the first time this season. Brookins is out for the year, due to a back injury.

Siena raced out to an early lead, but UAlbany came back thundering, taking a 31-12 lead, following a 3-pointer from Jayson Guerrier.

The Saints came back, thanks to Hymes, who is the only Siena player who can get his own shot.

Mike Black has 13 points to lead UAlbany, while Guerrier has 10.
